2.7. Prepare logistics

The overall process from the introduction of the concept to the development of the GF proposal should take an estimated three to four months (not more than 6 months). There may be additional activities planned such as:

• Modeling will take on average 3 months looking at the need for consecutive discussions on programmatic assumptions as well as in-country agreement on the outcome of the modeling. Based on the recent experience it will be important to ensure that the modeling happens early in the overall process and that there is a clear link to the data consolidation process (see roadmap).
• Often countries organize a joint evaluation and monitoring mission (JEMM) to evaluate the previous NSP. JEMMs are organized in collaboration with WHO and other technical partners at the international and country levels. The findings from the JEMM will serve as input to the next NSP.
• Developing the draft NSP is largely dependent on the country processes. We suggest countries develop the draft NSP template at the start of the process and fill this in after as part of the consultative workshops.
