Christiaan Mulder, Senior Epidemiologist
Christiaan Mulder is a senior epidemiologist at KNCV and holds a PhD in Epidemiology which he obtained at the University of Amsterdam. Prior to joining KNCV, he lived and worked in rural Tanzania to do research on innovative TB diagnostics. At KNCV, he conducts epidemiological, health economic, and qualitative research. He conducted TB epidemiological assessments in high TB-burden countries. He has supported Tanzania in applying the People-Centered Framework Approach to develop national strategic plans (NSPs).
Christiaan provides technical assistance for the design and implementation of drug resistance surveys and optimal screening and diagnostic algorithms. He leads the budget impact analyses on introducing new regimens for drug-resistant TB, and is a co-investigator on TB preventive treatment demonstration projects and trials, including qualitative and health economic research components.
